Consulting Skills

What are the goals and activities of the Consulting phase?

The instructional design process depends on effective use of consultative skills. You will work in partnership with your client and key stakeholders to identify needs, design and develop a solution and then implement and evaluate the solution. You will need to listen, educate and offer advice to your client. These skills are what hold the entire design process together.

Key Activities:

  • Working with clients/stakeholders to identify business needs and appropriate solutions
  • Engaging clients/stakeholders during the instructional design process

Outcomes:

  • Client/stakeholders that are informed and engaged in the instructional design process
